2017 San Jose Walk to Feed the Hungry
September 16, 2017 @ 7:30 am - 12:30 pm
How often do you feel powerless when you see a hungry homeless person in your neighbourhood, on your screens, and around the world?
Spotlighting this worldwide need, the BBC recently did a pictorial report on the first 1000 days of a child’s life revealing the devastating effects of hunger and chronic malnutrition on a person’s ability to thrive. http://www.bbc.com/news/in-pictures-40555452.
Now we can make a difference. The 2017 San Jose Walk to Feed the Hungry supporting Buddhist Global Relief’s worldwide projects to end hunger and chronic malnutrition will be held on Saturday, 16 September 2017. This year’s 6.5 mile walk will be a pilgrimage from Buddhi Vihara Buddhist Temple, 402 Knowles Ave, in Santa Clara to Chung Tai Zen Center, 750 E Arques Ave, in Sunnyvale.
All walkers will enjoy a complimentary meal at Chung Tai Zen Center. Please register online at First Giving if you plan on staying for lunch. https://www.firstgiving.com/41678/2017-san-jose-ca-walk-to-feed-the-hungry
Check in at Buddhi Vihara at 7:30AM to 8:00AM; Coffee and pastries will be served.
