Celebrate! Phoenix Rising from the Ashes
October 18, 2015 @ 12:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Community Ice Cream Social
Join members and friends of First Unitarian Church of San José in commemorating the 20th Anniversary of surviving and rebuilding from the devastating fire in 1995.
Fire Trucks – Ice Cream – Music – Fun!
Be sure to join us for the biggest party of the year as First Unitarian celebrates 20 years of surviving a six-alarm fire in October 1995! San José Fire Chief Curtis Jacobson and District 3 Councilmember Raul Perález, along with other city officials, generous donors, church leaders, and firefighters who subdued our fire, return to First Unitarian so that we can honor their courage, strength, and determination. Children and adults will delight in the fire trucks parked along the curb, and we offer ice cream for the whole community as a way of saying thanks and pledging anew our commitment to building a better city and county.
The public is welcome. You are welcome to join First Unitarian for worship as well, 11:00 am-12:30 pm, as we hear the stories of fighting the fire and of rebuilding after great loss! Join us for some much-needed inspiration honoring the human spirit and the beauty of collaboration!
