Please consider attending our 3rd monthly meeting of the District One Interfaith Council. It will be held on Wednesday, December 20 from 12 noon to 1:00.

Our November meeting was hosted, and lunch provided by Pastor Chris Nallan at the International Christian Center of San Jose. Our deepest thanks. Local faith leaders as well as Rose Dhaliwal from Councilman Chappie Jone’s office and local neighborhood association representatives and service organizations were in attendance. Rabbi Melanie Aron also shared her insights into Interfaith Councils with the group.

At our December meeting, faith leaders took action items to bring area maps, floor plans and resource lists. The objective is to compile a joint resource list with points of contact in the event of a major disaster or community need. We will also hear more about “Sheltering Workshops” in greater detail. After school intervention in the form of tutoring, reading and other activity programs will also be further discussed. Also, the Disaster Preparedness Fair at the LDS Church will be held in March of 2018.
