SiVIC’s January Interreligious Leaders Forum will be a part of the annual Jewbilee event at the Jewish Community Center.

Jewbilee 2019 – A Day of Jewish Learning
Sunday, January 13 @1:00pm – 6:30pm (for the entire Jewbilee)
Theme this year is “Food for Thought”, and SiVIC is sponsoring a presentation at 3:50pm titled
“Holy Cow!  How do Hindus, Muslims, Jains and Buddhists Eat?”
Our presenters are Mihir Meghani (Hinduism), Raania Mohsen (Islam), Girish Shah (Jainism) and Abbot Jianhu Shifu (Buddhism), moderated by Diane Fisher (Judaism)

You probably know that Hindus traditionally don’t eat beef and Muslims don’t eat pork, but this panel of Hindu, Muslim, Jain and Buddhist practitioners will discuss much more about food and their faith. Food binds a community, and fortifies a community. It also paradoxically sets people of different faiths apart. Come learn and ask those questions you’ve always had about food and other faiths.

Tickets for the full day of teachers, artists, educators, speakers and performers.
SiVIC participants may obtain complimentary passes for just our session from diane@jvalley.org
