Faith communities can be an incredible source of strength and support for individuals and families dealing with a mental illness diagnosis, so NAMI has developed an intentional outreach designed to give faith leaders more information about mental illness and about programs offered by NAMI, its affiliates, and other agencies. We've had two luncheons so far, with over 40 faith leaders in attendance, and our next luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, May 21st from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the NAMI office…

Visit with students from India

A group of twelve students from India (ages 18 to 24) will be visiting several cities in the USA this Summer as part of a trip organized by JAINA, the Federation of Jain Associations in North America, an umbrella organization that preserves and shares Jain Dharma and the Jain Way of Life. Our next luncheon gathering will be on Tuesday, September 1 at noon at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Our host will be The Rev. Margaret Boles. The church will provide lunch and kosher and vegetarian options will be available. Donations for lunch are appreciated, but not required. In addition to time to socialize, two items will be up for discussion. Margaret Boles will lead a discussion about our interfaith Thanksgiving service (currently scheduled for November 24).
