Santa Clara Mayor Lisa Gillmor will be presenting the Muslim Community a proclamation to commemorate the Month during the Special Order of Business portion of the city council meeting. August has been designated as Muslim Appreciation Month by the California State Legislature through a resolution sponsored last year by Assemblyman Bill Quirk.
