ING Interfaith Speakers Bureau Happy Hour & Training

Join Islamic Networks Group on Thursday, November 10th for alcohol-free drinks and to learn more about the Interfaith Speakers Bureau! ING’s Interfaith Speakers Bureau (IFSB) is looking for speakers representing the Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, or Muslim religion. ING’s interfaith speaker training prepares you to speak and educate about your religion on panels in schools, colleges, community centers, faith-based organizations, and other venues.

The Interfaith Speakers Bureau currently includes representatives of the Islamic, Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, and Hindu religions. In addition to sharing a brief overview of their respective faiths, ING Interfaith speakers are trained to speak on a variety of contemporary topics, including “Living the Faith in the SF Bay Area,” “Shared Values Between Faiths,” and Contemporary Issues such as “Pluralism” and the “Separation of Church and State.” Additionally, the Jewish-Muslim panel addresses common issues related to living as religious minorities in the United States.

Being an IFSB speaker is a rewarding way to build understandings and relationships among people of different religions and cultures, a vitally important task in our country and our world today.

This initial training session will cover ING’s vision, mission, and principles, the purpose and format of IFSB panels, the basics of IFSB presentation content, and the speaker training process. At the end of this session, participants who elect to continue in the training process will receive an IFSB panelist kit with information on ING and the content of ING interfaith panels.
