Peace Pole Dedication

In the midst of a turbulent year we invite you to take a moment, together with San Jose City College, to renew our commitment to peace on this official International Day of Peace, set aside by the United Nations in 1981.

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on the 21st of September. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.

A Peace Pole is a hand-crafted monument that displays the message and prayer May Peace Prevail on Earth on each of its four or six sides, usually in different languages. There are tens of thousands of
Peace Poles in 180 countries all over the world dedicated as monuments to peace. They serve as constant reminders for us to visualize and pray for world peace. Peace Pole Project
