Peace and Blessings of Holy Month of Ramadan!

Come join the Evergreen Islamic Center for our Interfaith iftar (the rbeaking of the fast) as Muslims all over the world go through spiritual purification and seek close relation with the Creator through fasting, charity, self-restraint and other acts of prayer and dedication.  We will be honored if you can join us in the traditional breaking of the fast followed by dinner.

Please RSVP by June 10 with number of people in your group and dietary restrictions if any.

Ramadan Open House at SBIA

The holy month of Ramadan will be commencing very soon, and Muslims all over the world are observing this time through abstaining from food, drink and other worldly pleasures during the daylight hours, spending time and money to help those less fortunate, and focusing on how they can improve themselves.

As you know, SBIA traditionally hosts an Open House during Ramadan and we would be honored if you would attend as our guest. The event will include the following:

7:30 pm – Welcome by SBIA President Athar Siddiqee
7:40 – Overview of Ramadan/Q&A by Imam Tahir Anwar
8:10 – Comments by Guest VIPs
8:20 – My Goals for Ramadan by young community member
8:30 – Iftar (Fast-breaking)
8:45 – Evening Prayer
8:55 – Dinner

Iftar Dinner in Palo Alto

Dear old, new and future friends,
I would like the pleasure of your company for Iftar dinner at my home.
Ramadan (month of fasting for Muslims) started on May 27th and I would like the pleasure of your company for an Iftar dinner.

Dinner will be served at Sunset.

About Ramadan: Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar. The Holy book Quran was sent down from heaven as guidance. The day starts with eating of the suhoor. Suhoor is the meal eaten before the sunrise. At sunset we have another meal called Iftar. To break the fast we pray and have Iftar meal with family and friends.

After Ramadan:Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated.

 

MCA Annual Ramadan Open House

The Muslim Community Association of the San Francisco Bay Area cordially invites you to bring friends and neighbors for our Annual Ramadan Open House, an opportunity to learn more about our community and our faith tradition.

Dinner and evening program are complimentary.

We encourage bringing a toy donation suitable for ages 3 – 14 yrs to go towards our Ramadan Toy Drive to benefit underprivileged children of all faiths in the Bay Area and surrounding communities.
