Homeless Persons’ Interfaith Memorial Service
Since 1990, the National Coalition for the Homeless (NCH) has sponsored National Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day every year on the first day of winter, the longest night of the year. On January 27, 1945, Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp, was liberated. In 2005, the United Nations declared January 27 International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
